Another Vintage Lucite Purse

Well, there's been an addition to the shelf.  I was at an antique place in Monterey today and spotted this lovely clear purse with a carved lid.  I just had to have it of course and it was a reasonable price too.  Meant to be right?  So, after I checked it for cracks and chips, I took it to the front to buy.  It is not labeled but is very similar to several well known companies.  There is also a rectangular bit of glue (from a label) at the back inside of the purse, under the lid hinge.  It looks a lot like it could have been a Patricia of Miami tag...maybe Charles S. Kahn.  Wherever it came from, I love it!

I especially love clear lucite purses...
they will go with any outfit.
Coupled with a Liberty of London scarf, a clear
plastic purse will pop...

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...

Collecting Spree Alert:  Mirrors

Wall of mirrors behind the couch...bummer to clean...
but the dogs don't seem to mind...

Long mirrors....
Somewhere I read that a mirror can make a small room look larger and I took it to heart.  In college, I lived in a tiny studio apartment in an old victorian and picked up my first mirror in the local antique store to make the place look bigger.  And so began my mirror collection.  I picked things up here and there...they are very easy to find.  I bought what I could afford and now have beautiful mirrors spread throughout the house.  I really love the soft curves and floral stylizations of many of these old mirrors.

I still live in a small place...although I don't know if the mirrors really make it look all that much bigger.  Mirrors look especially nice when grouped together.  The giant wall space behind my couch needed something and after trying several large paintings, I settled on some of my mirrors.  The only drawback is having to clean them all!

on the opposite wall, behind the couch...
